Software protection of stand alone licenceThe CAG 2 is protected against unauthorized use by a HASP key, which unlocks the product
license. If you lose the key, you lose the right to make use of the data of the CAG 2. It can only be replaced by purchasing a new license at full price. A damaged key will be replaced at cost price if sent to the ZAF in its entirety (i.e. chip, memory chip, circuit board and upper and lower cover plate with signet and specification number). The CAG 2 will be delivered with the USB model of the HASP-Key. To start your CAG 2 this key must be inserted in one of the USB ports of your computer. After inserting the key will be installed automatically by your system. If any problems occur during the installation please use the improved hardlock driver which you can download from the download center.
On special demand it is possible to get the HASP-Key for the parallel interface at extra cost of EURO 20.-. This key has to be plugged in the parallel (= printer) interface of your computer. The printer cable can be plugged in the key, the data will pass through the key to your printer. Protection of the network licence The network version of the CAG 2 is not protected by a hardware or a software key but has to be activated at the Center for Augustinian Studies in Würzburg. Activation: Starting the program for the first time after installation the user will be asked to type in the serial number of his copy. The CAG 2 will then generate a "local key". The user is asked to send this key via e-mail to the displayed address (cag2 augustinus.de) of the Center for Augustinian Studies in Würzburg and will get his "activation key". Starting the program the next time the CAG 2 will be activated by typing in this key. For using the CAG 2 on a terminal server like „Citrix Metaframe“ please note the following instructions: The program uses a file called "config“ which is installed in the ".cag“ directory of the user directory (e.g. C:\Documents and Settings\username\.cag\config). The serial number and the activation key are stored in this file amongst other things. To avoid that the remote user is asked for activation each time he starts the application a script should copy the "config“ file into his home directory before starting the program. The original file can be generated by copying it from the home directory of the active user AFTER closing the application for the first time. It is possible to cancel the "options|lang|xy" line from the "config“ file so that the user has to chose the language version each time before the application starts. Note: The stored activation key is only valid on the computer on which the activation was carried out.
