Processor G3-Processor, G4 recommended

Memory 256 MB RAM min.

Operating system Mac OS X 10.3/10.4

Disc space required 1,3

Please note: The Mac-Version of the CAG 2 uses parts of the following applications:

OSASUBR http://www.turbozen.com/mac/osasubr

Platypus http://sveinbjorn.vefsyn.is/platypus

The Xfree86 Project, Inc http://www.xfree86.org/

Fondu http://fondu.sourceforge.net/

In order to install the CAG 2 for Mac on your computer you need administrator rights.

Insert the CAG 2-CD-ROM into your CD-drive. A CD-ROM-symbol will appear on your desktop. A double click on this symbol will open the directory CAG 2. The installation procedure will be started by double clicking the file CAG.pkg in this directory; an assistant will guide you through the set-up process: First, system specifications will be checked; in case your system has the necessary specifications (Mac OS X 10.3/10.4), the license agreement will appear. After you have agreed to the license, you can determine the installation directory. Click the button Proceed to continue the installation procedure. Now, a dialog box will appear; click the button Install in this dialog box, and the set-up procedure will copy the standard application files to the chosen installation directory from the CD-ROM.

After copying the files, the installation assistant will check for the Mac OS system component X11 on your system, which is necessary for running the CAG 2 application. In case this component is not installed on your system, the set-up assistant will ask you in a pop-up window to install the X11 component. A click on the OK-button in this window will start the installation of this component. It is absolutely necessary to finish the installation of the X11-component, even though the installation window of the CAG 2 will notify "Installation complete". The system will only be updated after the X11 component has been installed completely, and only after that, the CAG 2 will be properly installed. During the installation procedure, an icon CAG 2 will be placed on your desktop. With this icon you can start the CAG 2 application.

Some distinctive features have to be taken into account when running the CAG 2 under Mac OS. Within the application it is also possible to cut, copy and paste text (as described in chap. 2.5.1.2.) by using the key combinations ctrl + X, ctrl + C and ctrl + V. All actions which the right mouse button is needed for can be activated by using the ctrl-key and pressing the mouse button simultaneously. Cornered brackets needed for fuzzy search (cf. chap. 2.4.3.) can be typed by using the key combinations Alt + 5 and Alt + 6.
